Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on an official visit to Tokyo to deepen economic and strategic cooperation between India’s most populous state and Japanese industry leaders. The visit focuses on accelerating high-value investments, technology partnerships, and clean-energy collaboration that will translate into jobs, skills, and industrial capacity back home in Uttar Pradesh.
Big-ticket investment momentum
During high-level meetings and a targeted investment roadshow, the Chief Minister engaged with senior executives from leading Japanese manufacturers and trading houses. The discussions translated into intent and MoUs across:
- Advanced manufacturing and auto components
- Precision electronics and industrial machinery
- Water management and urban infrastructure
- Logistics, warehousing, and hospitality
Collectively, the proposed investments are valued at approximately ₹11,000 crore, with projects expected to roll out in industrial corridors and emerging clusters across Uttar Pradesh.
Green hydrogen & clean tech push
A core pillar of the visit is clean energy cooperation. The delegation explored Japanese advances in green hydrogen, battery storage, and energy-efficient manufacturing. Uttar Pradesh presented a roadmap for pilot hydrogen projects, electrolyser manufacturing, and clean-mobility supply chains inviting technology partners to co-develop facilities and skill programs in the state.

Strategic industry partnerships
Sectoral dialogues were held with global players including Kubota Corporation, Minda Corporation, Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, and Nagase & Co., Ltd.. The focus: co-manufacturing, supply-chain localisation, and technology transfer to strengthen India–Japan industrial synergies anchored in Uttar Pradesh.
Culture, talent & people-to-people ties
Beyond business, the visit underscored cultural collaboration, tourism promotion, and talent exchanges laying the groundwork for long-term partnerships between universities, training institutions, and innovation hubs.
